Chapter Thirteen
When Tyler asked Mama why she was packing up so much stuff for the journey to Key West, she said, "We have to be prepared... for whatever happens." What do you think she meant by that? Why are they taking so much stuff with them?
the police might find out who they are and have to send them to a new home because they are squatters and make them pay for all the years that they lived on lostmans river for working on making the community a better place by picking up trash getting a job.
I think it means that the police might send their pa to jail for running away. They are taking a bunch of stuff with them because if their pa gets arrested, then they will have to stay because there won't be anyone to take the raft and the canoe home.
